COUNTY OF HAWAII :,4,„9-''................ •i '�:-•,..,/ • STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 584 20 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF THE BIG ISLAND FOR A REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES RELATING TO ITS COMMUNITY FEEDING PROGRAM. WHEREAS, the Boys and Girls Club of the Big Island (BGCBI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides after school educational and developmental opportunities for youth on Hawai`i Island; and WHEREAS,the extended closure of all Department of Education schools beginning March 23, 2020, in response to the COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) pandemic has resulted in a lack of feeding opportunities among vulnerable populations; and WHEREAS, BGCBI is establishing a community feeding program in multiple districts around Hawai`i Island to assist residents with their nutritional needs; and WHEREAS, BGCBI is requesting a reimbursement of funds for expenses related to its community feeding program, including equipment, food purchases, and supplies required for meal preparation, serving, distribution, and cleanup; and WHEREAS,the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations that provide drug- free and alcohol-free events for the community; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Boys and Girls Club of the Big Island for a reimbursement of expenses related to its community feeding program. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
