-J�ZYOFN,' <br /> • � ` <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII •• •{_ ''= /I* = STATE OF HAWAII <br /> E OFN' <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 585 20 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE ALOHA CLUB OF <br /> HILO TO PURCHASE COMPUTER EQUIPMENT FOR HALE `OLUEA CLUBHOUSE. <br /> WHEREAS,the Hale `Oluea Clubhouse ("Clubhouse") is a voluntary, psychosocial <br /> rehabilitation program for adults with mental health disabilities in East Hawai`i, which is a <br /> branch of Clubhouse International with 300 clubhouses in 30 countries; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Clubhouse has a unique rehabilitation format where participants are <br /> "members" rather than clients, and they work with staff to foster participation through self- <br /> determination; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the programs offered by the Clubhouse is computer training, and <br /> additional computers are needed in order to increase member participation; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Aloha Club of Hilo is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that raises <br /> funds for the Clubhouse and provides training for staff and volunteers as well as vocational and <br /> educational programs at the Clubhouse; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Aloha Club of Hilo has requested funds for the purchase of computer <br /> equipment to be used in training programs for Clubhouse members; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Department of Liquor Control supports public programs that promote <br /> drug-free and alcohol-free activities; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Aloha Club of Hilo to purchase computer equipment for <br /> Hale `Oluea Clubhouse. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
