, <br /> ............. <br /> • <br /> COUNTY O F HAWAII �: 414:� *- STATE OF HAWAII <br /> .... ......... <br /> ON•NA °.!�'�.' <br /> • t�rf <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 591 20 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO WEST HAWAII <br /> COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER, INC.,FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES TO <br /> PURCHASE PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT DUE TO THE COVID-19 <br /> PANDEMIC. <br /> WHEREAS, West Hawai`i Community Health Center, Inc., (WHCHC) is a 501(c)(3) <br /> nonprofit organization that operates community health centers that provide medical and other <br /> services to residents in the Kona district; and <br /> WHEREAS, there is a severe shortage of Personal Protective Equipment(PPE) at <br /> hospitals and healthcare facilities across the island due to the COVID-19 crises; and <br /> ° e care and testingfor COVID-19 <br /> to the West Hawai`i <br /> WHEREAS, WHCHC provides <br /> Community and PPE is used at all times to protect medical staff,patients, and others when <br /> providing care; and <br /> WHEREAS, WHCHC is requesting a reimbursement of funds for expenses for masks, <br /> gloves, respirators, and other personal protective equipment; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, due to the COVID-19 crisis, <br /> supports identifying areas of need and working collaboratively with nonprofits to address <br /> healthcare equipment needs of the community; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Office of the <br /> Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to West Hawai`i Community Health Center, Inc.,to <br /> reimburse expenses for personal protective equipment used while providing COVID-19 care and <br /> testing. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
