' Z. os h, . <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII :.-� �'-%'�/�� STATE OF HAWAII <br /> OF.N' <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 593 20 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO COMMUNITY FIRST, <br /> INC., TO PURCHASE MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES FOR ITS ONGOING BLOOD <br /> PRESSURE AWARENESS AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH CAMPAIGN. <br /> WHEREAS, Community First, Inc., ("Community First") is a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br /> community organization founded by the late Barry Taniguchi, dedicated to realizing a healthy <br /> community and the belief that healthcare is caring for health and not just treating disease; and <br /> WHEREAS, Community First kicked off its blood pressure awareness campaign in <br /> February, which was blood pressure awareness month; and <br /> WHEREAS, Community First is striving to end high blood pressure in Hawai`i, so it is <br /> continuing its blood pressure campaign that will include educational outreach throughout East <br /> Hawai`i; and <br /> WHEREAS, Community First is requesting funds to purchase materials and supplies for <br /> its blood pressure awareness and community outreach campaign; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the Department of Liquor Control's goals is to support programs that <br /> promote a healthy, alcohol- and drug-free lifestyle; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Community First, Inc.,to purchase materials and supplies <br /> for its ongoing blood pressure awareness and community outreach campaign. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Council hereby transfers/appropriates <br /> the following amount as set forth below: <br />
