E OFi4, -- RESOLUTION NO. 594 20 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HAMAKUA HEALTH CENTER, INC.,TO PURCHASE MEDICAL SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT. WHEREAS,the Hamakua Health Center, Inc., doing business as (dba) Hamakua-Kohala Health, is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide quality healthcare that is responsive to patients' and communities' needs; and WHEREAS, the Hamakua Health Center has transitioned many of its Medical and Behavioral Health appointments to telehealth appointments to support patients in the community who are staying at home in response to the Governor's "stay at home or in your place of residence" order or who are quarantined because of the COVID-19 pandemic; and WHEREAS,the Hamakua Health Center, Inc., is requesting funding assistance, including but not limited to the expenses for medical supplies and equipment to assist telehealth patients by temporarily providing them with blood pressure monitors, weight scales,pulse oximeters, and thermometers; and WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney supports this outreach effort as it falls within its programs policy to promote, perpetuate, and encourage collaboration in the community while providing a safe environment and supporting the welfare of the public; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Hamakua Health Center, Inc., to purchase medical supplies and equipment. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
