--"®Fpr •. <br /> ,,4��� <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII - :`- ,:fi!.*f STATE OF HAWAII <br /> BILL NO. 142. <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 20 26 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE 8, SECTION 2-37 OF THE <br /> HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2016 EDITION,AS AMENDED), RELATING TO THE <br /> DEPARTMENT OF RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT'S SUSTAINABILITY <br /> ACTION COMMITTEE. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII. <br /> SECTION 1. Chapter 2, article 8, section 2-37 of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2016 <br /> Edition, as amended) is amended by amending paragraph(a)to read as follows: <br /> "(a) There shall be designated within the department of research and development a <br /> sustainability action committee, which shall sit in an advisory capacity to the director of <br /> the department on matters that support a sustainable economy, society and environment <br /> and are within the department's purview to include energy, business development, <br /> agriculture, tourism, film, community development, climate change, and other related <br /> subjects. The department shall provide support service to the committee." <br /> SECTION 2. Chapter 2, article 8, section 2-37 of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 <br /> (2016 Edition, as amended) is amended by amending paragraph (c)to read as follows: <br /> "(c) The members shall be broadly representative of the County and <br /> shall be selected on the basis of their knowledge, expertise,proven innovative and <br /> technical skills and ability to network and source cutting edge technologies,with <br /> interests in one or more of the following areas: agriculture, business, energy, <br /> tourism, community, economics, planning, architectural design, community <br /> facilitation, environmental science, and.Hawaiian culture." <br /> SECTION 3. New material is underscored. In printing this ordinance,the underscoring <br /> need not be included. <br />
