�tY os''' <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII -a.f.4‘. _* \,\Aist- STATE OF HAWAII <br /> %aid-_ f:•� <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 686 20 <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A <br /> DONATION OF RICE TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT <br /> OF PARKS AND RECREATION <br /> WHEREAS, the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation, Pacific Island Region is donating 300 <br /> bags of instant rice to the County of Hawaii Department of Parks & Recreation; and <br /> WHEREAS, the rice, valued at $1,575, will be distributed as part of the Elderly <br /> Activities Division's Emergency Meal Program; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides that the <br /> council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other <br /> personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this <br /> donation; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, , in <br /> accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the County of <br /> Hawaii, accepts this donation. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this <br /> resolution be sent to the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation, Pacific Island Region, 1238 <br /> Wilhelmina Rise, Honolulu, HI 96816, acknowledging this generous donation. <br />
