ADAMS: Welcome to the Hawai`i County Charter Commission's Public <br />Hearing in Hilo. I would ask that you all please silence your communications <br />devices. I am convening this hearing at 5:05 p.m. on Thursday, April 4th, 2019. <br />This hearing will be recorded for the purpose of developing minutes that will be <br />available on the Commission's website. The purpose of this hearing is to receive <br />testimony from the public regarding the work of the Charter Commission to <br />include proposed Charter Amendments that have achieved first reading status. <br />At this time I will ask our Commissioners to briefly introduce themselves to <br />include identifying the district they have been appointed from. I would point out <br />that as yesterday, we had Commissioners that were in Waimea, here in Hilo, and <br />then in Kona which is where the Public Hearing was being held. Again, we have <br />Commissioners in Waimea, we have the Kona site is also open for VTC (Video <br />
