COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90 19. <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER <br />INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAII PURSUANT TO <br />HRS 46-7, TO ACCEPT FUNDS AS A SUBSIDY TO THE COUNTY OF <br />HAWAI'1 <br />WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii House Bill No. 1180, House Draft 1 provides <br />$20,000,000 as a subsidy to the County of Hawaii; and <br />WHEREAS, the County of Hawai'i would like to express its appreciation to the <br />Hawaii State Legislature for this subsidy; and <br />WHEREAS, these funds are to provide relief, recovery, mitigation, and <br />remediation assistance for disaster damage, losses, and suffering caused by the <br />volcanic eruption that occurred between May 3 and August 7, 2018; and <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Council recommends the acceptance of these <br />funds and requests that the State of Hawaii release the funds to the County of Hawaii; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the County of Hawai'i will report monthly expenditures to the State of <br />Hawaii Department of Budget and Finance; and <br />WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county <br />departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the federal <br />or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers <br />granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance in <br />connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers; now, <br />therefore, <br />
