<br /> <br />DEPARTMENT OF WATER SUPPLY  COUNTY OF HAWAI`I <br />345 KEKŪANAŌ`A STREET, SUITE 20  HILO, HAWAI`I 96720  PH: (808) 961-8050 <br />FAX: (808) 961-8657  EMAIL: DWS@HAWAIIDWS.ORG  WWW.HAWAIIDWS.ORG <br /> <br /> <br />FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE <br />May 30, 2019 <br /> <br />DWS Announces Keiki Water Conservation Poster Contest Winners <br /> <br />HAWAIʻI ISLAND – The County of Hawaiʻi Department of Water Supply (DWS) held its first <br />annual Water Conservation Poster Contest, inspiring Big Island keiki to artistically interpret the <br />DWS motto: “Water, Our Most Precious Resource.” Students from kindergarten through fifth <br />grade were invited to submit entries on behalf of their elementary school until March 22, 2019 in <br />celebration of World Water Day. <br /> <br />Over 200 entries were received from students islandwide for this inaugural poster contest. <br />Posters were evaluated on originality, visual artistry, and their ability to convey the contest <br />theme (focusing on fresh drinking water).
