Senior Training & Employment Program <br />Mark Kunzer, Program Director (808) 961-8750 <br /> <br />HERE'S THE NEWS <br /> <br />SENIORS IN TRAINING <br />The Senior Training & Employment Program <br />(STEP) assists eligible, unemployed, low-income job seekers age 55 and over in <br />getting temporary but current work experience. <br /> <br />PARTICIPANT ELIGIBILITY <br />-Must be 55 years or older and unemployed at the time applying for enrollment. <br />-Must meet low-income federal guidelines. <br />-Must be a resident of the County of Hawai‘i. <br /> <br />Pictured above is STEP Enrollee, Ms. Marybeth Rank and her on the job training Supervisor, <br />Jay. Marybeth is doing her STEP Training at The Boys & Girls Club, Hilo as a Kitchen Helper. <br />She is learning about the many responsibilities of working in a kitchen and helping <br />The Boys & Girls Club supplement the food nutrition for our keikis by serving them healthy <br />snacks and healthy meals. <br /> <br />On April 4, 2019 Host Agency Supervisors and STEP Enrollee’s participated in a First Aid/CPR/AED <br />Training instructed by Safety Specialist, Doug McCormick.
