You are well aware that any group so tasked has already been <br />approved in a stewardship grant process that ensures their dependability. The pool of volunteers has <br />steadily declined over the years, and it is clear that in order to secure workers for what is often very <br />challenging physical labor, payment is needed. More often than not, officers and board members work <br />alongside the 501(c)3 employees. <br />With the County Council's unanimous vote to send this amendment back to you, you should now feel that <br />other eyes have seen a real need for such compensation. It would create a very confusing ballot to have <br />two proposals dealing with the same matter. <br />Please cast your vote to strengthen the land fund by adding the proposed language to CA -18. <br />Thank you for considering my comments. <br />1 <br />Comm.
