The DOH ended funding of the program in FY2015. DEM funded the
continuation of the UMO program in the FY2018 Budget. The used motor oil
collection site at South Point U-Cart is temporarily closed due to ongoing issues
with the used motor oil containment unit being contaminated with water,
rubbish and other unacceptable materials

D. Manufacturers only offer this convenience on O‘ahu to comply
with the Electronic Waste and Television Recycling & Recovery Act mandatory
take-back provisions. A stronger state EPR law requiring convenient on-island
manufacturer sponsored take-back should be considered.
