So, I guess the next thing <br /> <br />6 <br />on the agenda is a briefing by the finance director, <br /> <br />7 <br />Deanna, please. I think, you know, you may want to <br /> <br />8 <br />lead in with what's going on budget-wise and the like <br /> <br />9 <br />and I know we have a lots of questions. So, thank you <br /> <br />10 <br />for being here today. <br /> <br />11 <br />MS. SAKO: Deanna Sako, Director of Finance. <br /> <br />12 <br />So we did just on Friday, submit our budget, our first <br /> <br />13 <br />draft on March 1st to the county council. So that is <br /> <br />14 <br />available and it's a public document. And it is <br /> <br />15 <br />balanced, revenues do equal expenditures. You know, <br /> <br />16 <br />it has grown slightly because we added the general <br /> <br />17 <br />excise tax fund and the short-term vacation rental <br /> <br />18 <br />funds. But those are not necessarily available for <br /> <br />19 <br />general, you know, salaries, and wages. They do apply <br /> <br />20 <br />to certain individuals but not Countywide. So, we're <br /> <br />21 <br />still with the general fund, which is what pays for <br /> <br />22 <br />most people's salaries, but then we do have special <br /> <br />23 <br />funded salaries and wages. <br /> <br />24 <br />So, I'm not sure exactly what all your <br /> <br />25 <br />questions are, but it is a lot easier for me to talk <br />ISLAND COURT REPORTING & TRANSCRIPTION SERVICES <br /> <br />(808) 933-9800 <br /> <br />
