<br /> <br />DEPARTMENT OF WATER SUPPLY COUNTY OF HAWAI`I <br />345 KEKŪANAŌ`A STREET, SUITE 20 HILO, HAWAI`I 96720 PH: (808) 961-8050 <br />FAX: (808) 961-8657 EMAIL: DWS@HAWAIIDWS.ORG WWW.HAWAIIDWS.ORG <br /> <br /> <br />August 26, 2019 <br /> <br />WATER SHUT-OFF NOTICE <br /> <br />AFFECTED AREA: KAŪMANA, SOUTH HILO <br /> <br />ALL CUSTOMERS ON CHONG STREET FROM WEST NAAUAO STREET TO LEWANUU STREET, <br />INCLUDING LAWELAWE CIRCLE AND OTHER CONNECTING SIDE ROADS, INCLUDING <br />HOKULANI STREET, ʻIʻIWIPOLENA ROAD, TERRACE DRIVE AND ALL OF ITS CONNECTING <br />SIDE STREETS AND SIDE ROADS, INCLUDING HOKULANI PLACE, KAʻAPUNI LOOP, KAʻAPUNI <br />PLACE, WAWAI LOOP, WAWAI PLACE, LANI PLACE, TERRACE CIRCLE, PUAMELIA PLACE, <br />PONI-MOI PLACE, PIKAKE PLACE, PAKALANA STREET, PAKALANA PLACE, KAIKŪʻONO <br />STREET, KAIKŪʻONO PLACE, HELE MAUNA STREET, HUAPALA PLACE, ILIMA PLACE, AND <br />KIELE PLACE; KAŪMANA, SOUTH HILO, HAWAIʻI <br /> <br />Water will be temporarily turned off in the above-mentioned area on Wednesday, September 4, 2019, between <br />the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to do waterline work for the Piʻihonua-Kūkūau Reservoir and Transmission <br />Improvements Project. The affected areas may experience low to no water pressure during the shut-off period. <br /> <br />Upon the resumption of water service, the waterlines will be flushed and cleaned, during which time you may <br />notice turbid and/or discolored water. <br /> <br />You may also notice trapped air in your plumbing, which will be released as you initially use water. <br /> <br />Affected customers are reminded to take any and all precautions necessary to protect the customers’ property and <br />facilities including, but not limited to, disabling electrical power to pumps and/or any other devices whose normal <br />operation may be dependent on water pressure and/or water supply, and which might be harmed if automatically <br />energized during the water shutoff. <br /> <br />Please pardon this temporary inconvenience.
