Senior Training & Employment Program <br />Mark Kunzer, Program Director, (808) 961-8750 <br /> <br />HERE'S THE NEWS <br /> <br />SENIORS IN TRAINING <br />The Senior Training & Employment Program (STEP) is a community service and <br />work-based job training program for older Americans. Authorized by the Older American <br />Act, STEP provides training for low income, unemployed seniors age 55 years or older. <br /> <br />STEP helps seniors receive training to aid them in returning to the workforce. It provides <br />temporary, paid, part-time work experience with public sector and non-profit agencies. <br />Participants work an average of 19 hours per week and are paid at the current minimum <br />wage. The training included <br />how to search for jobs, organizing your information, resume preparation, and interviewing, <br />which included mock interviews.
