• Mihaela gave out cards at the Women's March on January 19th at Zonta and <br />YWCA table. <br />• Farrah will bring more cards to February meeting to share with CSW. <br />• Give cell phone safety cards to CSW Members for distribution. <br />B. Real Women Essay Contest <br />• Received essays to day. Deadline was 25th of Jan. A few more may be <br />coming in. <br />• Farrah will separate into various categories., compile list of how many, cover <br />sheet for scoring, <br />• We need volunteer readers. CSW Volunteers indicated they have no <br />preference in grade level. <br />• Allow 3-4 weeks to read and score. <br />• CSW uses a rubric to score essay. <br />• Venue location Committee can work with Lisa on details. Suggest using same <br />RFP from last year and put out to same vendors. <br />• In past, we've done Kona and Hilo. But last years there were no Kona so <br />luncheon was in Hilo. <br />• Lee -Ann will be main point of contact with Lisa and copy Brooke so Brooke is <br />in the know of luncheon details. <br />• CSW needs to give Lisa a date for the luncheon and CSW narrowed down to <br />two possible dates; April 28th and May 4. <br />• Timelines moving forward are as follows: <br />• Farrah get essays out to everyone by February 8. <br />• Volunteer readers by March 1st. (3weeks). <br />• Notify winners by May 22nd and ask for RSVP by first week of April allowing <br />time for CSW to finalize details on luncheon gift card/certificates. <br />• Spring break dates DOE -March 18tH <br />• Eila Algood is a contact of Chair Derby's has radio show "Women's Voices" <br />airs Mondays and Wednesdays from 4-6 pm showcasing women and girls <br />voices. Show airs on 96.1 fm on South Kohala coast and North Kohala radio <br />station offered to have the Winner read (live or pre -taped) to share message <br />on radio show. Eila wants to help get word out KNKR96.1 fm. Go to knkr.org <br />to stream live. <br />• Mele motioned that CSW use Sunday, April 28th as first date for Real Women <br />Essay contest luncheon and if that date doesn't work out, Committee will <br />approve Saturday, May 4th as second alternative. Mihaela seconded. Motion <br />carried. <br />• If we already approved budget and line item next month we will put onto <br />AGENDA approval for project expense for Real Women Essay Luncheon. <br />ACTION Item: Lee -Ann will email Lisa and copy Brooke Derby on correspondence to <br />plant 2019 Luncheon. <br />Brooke to "project expense approval for RFP" on February 2019 Agenda. <br />C. Hawaii Island Women's Leadership Forum <br />• $2500 funding request sent to State CSW. <br />Pending, more to be shared at February 2019 meeting. <br />3 <br />
