In all, there are 15 Hawaii Registered Historic <br />Sites, not including the Ala Loa trail. <br /> According to a 1979 Bishop Museum report, these pre-contact archeological sites are <br />valuable for testing the model of cultural transformation developed from pre-contact to the <br />post-contact settlements found in Lapakahi (an ahupua'a to the north) <br /> <br />
