Dee <br />4 <br />thought it was 28 working days, and it was actually 28 <br />5 <br />calendar days, and she missed the deadline, which was <br />6 <br />really unfortunate. But then in 2016, they again <br />7 <br />recruited for a CSA2, and she was not selected. <br />8 <br />Now, during this exact same time, Dee is <br />9 <br />going through all of these investigations, or two <br />10 <br />investigations, one on using personal time for -- on <br />11 <br />the computer. Well, what's troubling to me is that she <br />12 <br />was almost singled out; nobody else is checked on their <br />13 <br />use of internet. And they come up with all of this <br />14 <br />documentation that Dee used her personal -- her <br />15 <br />computer for personal work, but I would submit that we <br />16 <br />all use, to some extent, our computers for some <br />17 <br />personal time; that's a given. In addition, Dee was <br />18 <br />doing work as a fitness counselor, and that was in <br />19 <br />coordination with the previous mayor's fitness program. <br />20 <br />Anyway, that was part of it, but -- not to <br />21 <br />get into that, but our concern was that these issues <br />22 <br />were coming up just at the time when she was, again, <br />23 <br />submitting for a promotion. <br />24 <br />The other reason I cite a classification is <br />25 <br />that in every jurisdiction, including this one, when a <br /> <br />ISLAND COURT REPORTING & TRANSCRIPTION SERVICES <br />(808) 933-9800 <br /> <br />
