And they are here today, so if <br />5 <br />you'll come forward and give us the update to your <br />6 <br />report. <br />7 <br />If you can introduce yourself and give us a <br />8 <br />little background. <br />9 <br />MS. NIMS: Sure. My name is Bonnie Nims. <br />10 <br />I'm the Legislative Auditor. With me I have Lane <br />11 <br />Shibata and Maxinne Pacheco who actually did the audit <br />12 <br />of the hiring practices of the County. <br />13 <br />So, did you want a summary of the audit <br />14 <br />done? Is that what you're looking for? <br />15 <br />CHAIR TULANG: Yes. <br />16 <br />MS. NIMS: Okay. Basically, we did an audit <br />17 <br />to evaluate the hiring practices of the County just to <br />18 <br />make sure that the County's practices, the processes, <br />19 <br />are in place to ensure equitable, uniform, and <br />20 <br />transparent hiring practices; and then we went through <br />21 <br />and tested those practices at the different <br />22 <br />departments. <br />23 <br />We initially looked at seven departments. <br />24 <br />From that, we narrowed it down to four, based on <br />25 <br />preliminary work we did.
