CHILLINGWORTH: I’m not quite sure what to do about these communications—Number <br />5 on the agenda—communication from the Charter Commission and then our response. Is there <br />anything we need to do with those documents— <br /> <br />Communications (Item 5) <br /> <br />Communication No. 18-01.01, dated September 27, 2018, from the Merit Appeals Board <br />(MAB) to Charter Commission, informing them that they do not have any comments or <br />recommendations at this time concerning the Hawaiʻi County Charter; and <br />Communication No. 18-01.02, dated October 1, 2018, from the Charter Commission <br />Secretary, acknowledging receipt of MAB’s response to their request for input concerning <br />the Charter. (Note: Communication No. 18-01 dated August 1, 2018, from the Hawaiʻi <br />County Charter Commission, was seeking input from MAB as to how the County Charter <br />affects their role and operations within the County, and any proposals they may have to <br />amend the Charter. This matter was filed at its meeting held on September 19, 2018.) <br /> <br />MR. YOSHIMOTO: You can just file them. <br /> <br />MR. CHILLINGWORTH: File them? <br /> <br />MR. YOSHIMOTO: Motion to file and just so you acknowledge it on the record. <br /> <br />MR. CHILLINGWORTH: Okay. All right—so moved. <br /> <br />MR. TAM: Second. <br /> <br />CHR. NAHUINA: It’s been moved and seconded that we file the communications. NAHUINA: The ayes have it, and we shall file these communications. We did—when I <br />think about it—we did respond to the Charter Commission, correct? <br /> <br />MR. CHILLINGWORTH: We did. <br /> <br />CHR. NAHUINA: That one we did, yeah. <br /> <br />MS. NAMAHOE: Then, I guess, for clarification why do they appear on the agenda? <br /> <br />MR.
