Incident: Coronavirus-19 Update Message <br /> This is a Civil Defense message. <br /> This is a Coronavirus-19 informational update for Monday, February 17 at 9:00 in the <br /> morning. <br /> The Department of Health confirms that there are NO cases of Coronavirus-19 <br /> reported in Hawaii at this time. As previously reported, the Department of Health <br /> continues to gather facts and interview individuals related to the Japanese visitor that <br /> was confirmed to have Coronavirus-19. The Department of Health confirms that the <br /> individual did not travel to Hawaii Island. At this time, no individuals with prolonged <br /> close contact with the Japanese visitor have been identified in Hawaii. The <br /> Department of Health, along with state, federal, and international partners, continues <br /> to investigate this case. <br /> The following Department of Transportation policies remain in effect: <br /> • The U.S. Department of State continues to advise U.S. citizens to not travel to <br /> China. <br /> • The only individuals allowed into the U.S. from China are U.S. citizens and will <br /> undergo a mandatory quarantine. <br /> AS A REMINDER: <br /> The best way to prevent any respiratory illness, including the flu and Coronavirus- 19, <br /> is to practice everyday preventive actions to include: <br /> • Take extra measures to keep your hands clean. <br /> • Practice cough and sneeze etiquette (maintain distance, cover coughs and <br /> sneezes). <br /> Additionally, your help is needed to prevent rumors about Coronavirus-19. Make sure <br /> your information is up-to-date and comes from a credible source. Misinformation can <br /> do so much harm.
