CIVIL DEFENSE AGENCY Date: <br />MEDIA UPDATE Time: <br />Frequency: <br />Update #: <br />Incident: High Surf Warning <br />This is a Civil Defense message. <br />Rev. May 6, 2019 <br />This is a High Surf Advisory message for Tuesday afternoon, February 25. <br />The National Weather Service has issued a High Surf Advisory for Hawaii Island <br />from Hawi in North Kohala along the Hamakua Coast to Cape Kumukahi in Puna <br />through Wednesday evening. <br />A High Surf Advisory means surf will be higher than normal, shore break, and <br />dangerous currents make swimming difficult and dangerous. <br />Due to the High Surf Advisory, the following are issued; <br />• There are no closures at this time but be aware that beach and road closures <br />may occur at any time. <br />• Beach -goers, swimmers, and surfers should heed all advice given by ocean <br />safety officials and exercise caution if you enter the water. <br />Please keep yourself informed. <br />Thank you. <br />This is your Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency. <br />
