These five individuals are quarantined at home and are being
monitored by the Department of Health. At this date for Hawaii Island, no one infected
by the virus had to be hospitalized.
Your county government task force on prevention continues to disinfect areas around the island.
Concentrating on public rest rooms, sidewalks, bus stops and parks. This will continue seven
days a week as long as necessary to combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus. An updated
information flyer is now being circulated.
This is a community issue and your help is needed to help prevent the spread of this
virus. Do your part, get informed and protect yourself and the community.
We can all help stop the spread of this virus in our community by good etiquette on
coughing and sneezing, keeping areas clean and sanitized, and as hard as it is for
Hawaii’s culture, no handshakes, no hugs, no knuckle to knuckle. Just say “Hi” for now.
Your help is needed and can make a difference. Working together we can minimize the
impact on this island.
For your information there will be drive-up COVID testing at the Old Kona Airport from
8 am to 3 pm today.
Thank you for listening and have a good and safe weekend.
This is your Hawaii County Civil Defense.
County of Hawai‘i is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer.
