CIVIL DEFENSE AGENCY <br />MEDIA UPDATE <br />Incident: Coronavirus Update Message <br />This is a Civil Defense message. <br />Date: March 21, 2020 <br />Time: 4:00 PM <br />Frequency: Every 3 hours <br />Update #: 1 <br />This is a Coronavirus informational update for Saturday, March 21 at 4:00 in the afternoon. <br />On State of Hawaii Updates: <br />By order of the Governor of Hawaii, starting this Thursday, March 26th, all Hawaii -inbound <br />passengers of all international and domestic commercial and private flights and all Hawaii -inbound <br />passengers of all cruise line ships will be subject to a mandatory 14 -day quarantine upon arrival. <br />Mandatory quarantine protects the population from persons that may have potentially been <br />exposed to the coronavirus and will be required by law to be isolated and monitored. This order <br />will be in effect until further notice. <br />All passengers will; <br />o Remain at home or at hotel. <br />o Self -monitor their health for 14 days. <br />o Monitor their temperature for temperature above 100.4. <br />o If fever or cough is present or develops, seek medical care. <br />o If medical care is needed, call ahead to your doctor or emergency room and let them know <br />about your travel history and symptoms. <br />o If you need urgent medical care, call 911. <br />For details of the Governor's order and imposing of mandatory quarantine of all passengers, <br />please visit hawaiicounty.gov/coronavirus. <br />Your Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency will continue to give you daily updates and you will <br />be notified of any changes that may affect your safety. <br />Thank you for listening. <br />Have a safe day. <br />This is your Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency. <br />
