CIVIL DEFENSE AGENCY Date: April 14, 2020
MEDIA UPDATE Time: 9:00 AM
Radio Frequency: Each Hour
Update #: 1
Incident: Coronavirus Update
This is a Civil Defense message.
th
This is a COVID-19 informational update for Tuesday morning, April 14.
On today’s report of COVID-19, the total number of people tested positive for Hawaii
Island is 39. From this, 28 have been cleared and recovered by the Department of
Health, and the remaining 11 are quarantined at home and closely monitored by your
Department of Health.
The past week has shown a large increase of people tested positive for Hawaii Island.
This increase is mainly the result of fast food establishment employee’s contact with
fellow employees and family. The establishment has closed since notification of a
positive test result, and remains closed. The Department of Health is continuing the
investigation and states that exposure to customers are unlikely due to previously
implemented physical and procedural barriers made by the establishment. All family
and employees who have tested positive are in isolation and quarantine at home.
Remember, to keep yourself physically and emotionally healthy as best as you can.
Take care of your Kupuna, wear your masks and be well.
This is your Hawaii County Civil Defense.
