This is a Civil Defense Brush Fire message for Thursday, April 23 at 9:30 in the <br /> morning. <br /> The Hawaii Fire Department reports a brush fire mauka of Akoni Pule Highway in North <br /> Kohala District near the 5.5 Mile Marker between Kohala by the Sea and Kohala Ranch. <br /> Due to the brush fire, the following are in effect; <br /> • Efforts are being made to protect nearby structures. <br /> • Motorists, please avoid the area. <br /> • Expect traffic delays in the area. <br /> • And, roads may close without notice. <br /> Stay tuned to your radio for updates and changes in conditions. <br /> This is your Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency. <br />
