<br />CIVIL DEFENSE AGENCY Date: May 1, 2020 <br />MEDIA UPDATE Time: 9:00 AM <br /> Radio Frequency: Each Hour <br /> Update #: 1 <br />Incident: Coronavirus Update <br />This is a Civil Defense message. <br />This is a COVID-19 informational update on Friday morning, May 1st. <br />On today’s report of COVID-19, the total number of people who tested positive for <br />Hawaii Island remains at 72. From this, 58 have been cleared as recovered with the <br />remaining 14 quarantined at home and monitored by the Department of Health. At this <br />date, no one is hospitalized. <br />For your information, drive through testing will be conducted today in Honoka’a <br />tomorrow, at the Honoka’a Sports Complex, hours are from 9 this morning till 1 this <br />afternoon. Thank you, Premier Medical Group, Hope Services, Hawaii National Guard, <br />and County Task Force for offering this free service. <br />Know that the Hilo Medical Center continues their drive-thru testing. In Hilo at the Hilo <br />Medical Center, hours are Monday thru Friday from 10 in the morning till 2 in the <br />afternoon, in Puna at the Puna Medical Center in Pahoa, hours are from 9 in the <br />morning till 4 in the afternoon, Monday thru Saturday, Thank you Hilo medical center. <br />This Island and State are doing very well in minimizing the spread and impact of the <br />coronavirus. Very important to follow the policies of distancing, gatherings, face <br />coverings, cleanliness, and personal health of physical and emotional care. Know that <br />all these policies have one goal in common: to stop the spread of the virus.
