<br />CIVIL DEFENSE AGENCY Date: May 2, 2020 <br />MEDIA UPDATE Time: 9:00 AM <br /> Radio Frequency: Each <br />Hour <br /> Update #: 1 <br />Incident: Coronavirus Update <br />This is a Civil Defense message. <br />This is a “COVID-19” information update on Saturday morning, May 2nd. <br />On today’s report of “COVID-19,” the total number of people who tested positive for <br />Hawaii Island remains at 72. From this, 60 have been cleared as recovered with the <br />remaining 12 quarantined at home and monitored by the Department of Health. At this <br />date, no one is hospitalized. <br />For your information, drive-thru testing will be conducted today at the following places: <br /> In North Kohala at Kamehameha Park from 10 this morning until 2 this afternoon. <br /> In North Kona at the Pottery Terrace from 8 this morning until 12 noon. <br /> In Puna at the Puna Medical Center in Pahoa from 9 this morning until 4 this afternoon. <br />Thank you all for doing this service for the people of Hawaii. Remember, early testing <br />means early detection, means early care and help stop the spread of the coronavirus. <br />This Island and State are doing very well in minimizing the spread and impact of <br />“COVID-19.” It is so very important to follow the policies of distancing, gatherings, face <br />coverings, cleanliness, and personal health of physical and emotional care. All of these <br />policies have one goal in common: help stop the spread of this virus.
