<br />CIVIL DEFENSE AGENCY Date: May 6, 2020 <br />MEDIA UPDATE Time: 8:30 AM <br /> Radio Frequency: Each Hour <br /> Update #: 1 <br />Incident: Coronavirus Update <br />This is a Civil Defense message. <br />th <br />This is a COVID-19 information update for Wednesday morning, May 6. <br />On today’s report of COVID-19 the total number of people who tested positive for <br />Hawaii Island remains at 74. From this, 70 have been cleared as recovered with the <br />remaining 4 quarantined at home and monitored by the Department of Health. At this <br />date, for Hawaii Island no one is hospitalized. <br />For your information, a drive thru testing will be conducted in Hilo today at the Hilo Civic <br />Center. Hours are from 9 this morning till 1 this afternoon. Testing will also be <br />conducted today in Ka’u at the St. Jude Church in Ocean View. Hours are from 9 in the <br />morning till 1 this afternoon. Thank you, Premier Medical Group and Aloha Urgent Care <br />for providing this free service. <br />th <br />A food drop off provided by the Hawaii Food Basket will be conducted tomorrow May 7 <br />in South Kohala at the Waimea District Park. Thank you to all that provided this very <br />needed service. <br />The Island and State of Hawaii are doing very well in minimizing the spread and the <br />impact of COVID-19. It is so important to ramp up all the preventive measures so we <br />can get Hawaii better and keep Hawaii Safe and stop this virus from affecting the <br />beautiful lifestyle of Hawaii. <br />Thank you for listening and to all the nurses, thank you, thank you, and a grateful and <br />happy National Nurses Day to you. <br />This is your Hawaii County Civil Defense. <br /> <br />
