CIVIL DEFENSE AGENCY Date: May 17, 2020 <br />MEDIA UPDATE <br />Radio Frequency: Each Hour <br />Update #: 1 <br />Incident: Coronavirus Update <br />This is a Civil Defense message. <br />This is a COVID-19 information update for Sunday morning, May 17th <br />On today's report of COVID-19, the total number of people tested positive for Hawaii <br />Island is 76. This increase of one, the first in several days, has been identified as travel <br />related. Individual was infected during a brief visit to California. Individual and family <br />are now quarantined at home and monitored by the Department of Health. <br />The Island and State of Hawaii are doing well in minimizing the spread and impact of <br />this virus. These positive numbers of Hawaii today reinforce the importance of and <br />success of following the policies of distancing, gatherings, cleanliness, face coverings, <br />staying at home if you are sick, and keeping yourself physically and emotionally healthy. <br />Thank you, people of Hawaii for who you are, a community together helping each other <br />during a very difficult time. <br />For your information there are no drive-thru testing or food drop-off scheduled for today. <br />Thank you for listening and have a safe Sunday. <br />This is your Hawaii County Civil Defense. <br />
