a permit and penalty fees when required by the construction code: <br /> (1) Habitat for Humanity - Hilo and Kona; and <br /> (2) Hawaii Community College's Model Home Project. <br /> (i) The authority having jurisdiction may waive permit fees for any person seeking to <br /> restore, reconstruct, or replace a structure damaged or destroyed as a result of a major <br /> disaster. For the purposes of this section, "major disaster" means any hurricane, <br /> tornado, storm, flood, high water, tsunami, earthquake, volcanic eruption, landslide, <br /> mud slide, fire, explosion, or other catastrophe occurring in any part of the County that <br /> causes damage, suffering, and loss to such a degree that: <br /> (1) The governor of the State of Hawaii has declared pursuant to chapter 209, HRS, <br /> that a major disaster has occurred; or <br /> (2) The mayor has issued a proclamation declaring the existence of a major disaster. <br /> Section 5-7-4. Temporary permit. <br /> A fee of$50 shall be assessed for each temporary permit. The fee shall be submitted <br /> with the temporary permit application. A temporary permit shall not be valid until the fees <br /> prescribed by law have been paid. <br /> Section 5-7-5. Extra or regulatory inspections. <br /> (a) A fee of$100 shall be assessed upon the permit holder or requestor for each extra <br /> inspection made. As used in this section, unless the context otherwise requires, "extra <br /> inspection"means an inspection needed because the work to be inspected was not <br /> complete or ready for inspection during a previous inspection. <br /> (b) A fee of$100 shall be assessed upon the requestor or property owner for each <br /> regulatory inspection made. <br /> (c) The authority having jurisdiction has the authority to waive inspection fees. <br /> Section 5-7-6. Temporary certificate of occupancy. <br /> Pursuant to section 5-8-22(c) a $200 fee shall be assessed upon issuance of a temporary <br /> certificate of occupancy. <br /> Section 5-7-7. Fee payment. <br /> Fees imposed pursuant to this article shall be paid to the director of finance. <br /> Section 5-7-8. Refunds. <br /> Plan review fees are non-refundable. Permit fees may be partially refunded in <br /> accordance with section 2-12, Hawaii County Code. <br /> 43 <br />
