NEW BUSINESS <br />Agenda Item 1: <br />Standardize the purchase of Daktronics brand for indoor/outdoor electronic scoreboards. <br />Mr. Kamelamela made a motion to approve the item and it was seconded by Mr. Sewake. <br />The committee listened to Mr. Marote's short justification and reviewed the department's <br />detailed report and handouts that was distributed to the members prior to. <br />Mr. Marote -- The department have used many different brands of scoreboards over the course of <br />over 30 years and they find the Daktronics brand offers the longest service of life. They only <br />upgraded the console and driver board on this particular brand. <br />Mr. Marote — Daktronics offer excellent customer service and warranty. Haven't had any <br />problems; just need to go to their website and fill out some information. <br />Ms. Sako — Any questions? <br />Mr. Kamelamela — How many scoreboards are we talking about? <br />Mr. Marote — Every gym and ballfield on the island has different sizes of scoreboards. <br />Mr. Souza — The County easily has over 20 + scoreboards. <br />Mr. Souza - We are also looking at longevity and reliability. Our electricians are the ones we <br />depend on to repair the scoreboards and they have most experience with them. Other brands are <br />done working less than 5 years, maybe 2 to 3 years <br />Ms. Sako — We're not looking to replace these all one time, right? <br />Mr. Souza — No, we are planning the installation in phases and working on a schedule. <br />Mr. Hunt — Good, that was going to be my question as well. <br />Ms. Sako — Any other questions? None. <br />The committee voted and motion was carried. <br />
