<br />CIVIL DEFENSE AGENCY Date: July 20, 2020 <br />MEDIA UPDATE Time: 08:00 AM <br />Radio Frequency: Every 2 Hours <br /> Update #: 1 <br />Incident: Coronavirus Update <br />This is a Civil Defense message. <br />th <br />This is a COVID-19 informational update for Monday, July 20. <br />On today’s update of COVID-19, the number of active cases, monitored by the <br />Department of Health, for Hawaii Island is ten with one new case identified as travel <br />related. Of this, one is hospitalized. An active case is defined as an individual who has <br />tested positive for the Coronavirus and is presently monitored by the Department of <br />Health. <br />For your information, public testing is available today in North Kona at the Keauhou <br />Shopping Center. Hours are from 9:00 this morning ‘til noon. Thank you Ali`i Health <br />Center for providing this service and the Hawaii National Guard and County Task Force <br />for helping. As a precaution to ensure the safety of the Kona Community testing for <br />Kona Community Hospital staff and contractors will also be done today. Testing began <br />at 5:30 this morning and will continue through the day. Thank you Premier Medical <br />Group, the National Guard and County Task Force for providing this service. <br />The majority of states continue to see an increase of people being infected by the <br />Coronavirus. As the number of active cases on Hawaii Island continues to increase it <br />becomes more important that we follow the preventive measures of face coverings, <br />distancing, gatherings, and cleanliness. You should also stay at home if you do not feel <br />well to help keep your neighbors, friends and family safe. As a reminder, wearing of <br />face coverings is mandatory on Hawaii Island. <br />Thank you for listening, have a safe day. <br />This is your Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency. <br />
