CIVIL DEFENSE AGENCY <br />ILTA 1411Y IIJ7_ <br />Date: Monday, July 27, 2020 <br />Time: 6:30 AM <br />Frequency: Once <br />Update #: 1 <br />Incident: Tsunami Message 2a (Local Earthquake — No Tsunami Threat — To All) <br />This is a Civil Defense Message. <br />This is a Local Earthquake message for Monday morning, July 27th <br />The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center reports the earthquake which occurred at <br />approximately 6:06 am of the Ka'u coast was not large enough to cause a tsunami for the <br />Island of Hawaii. I say again, there is NO TSUNAMI THREAT to the Island of Hawaii. <br />Preliminary data indicates that the earthquake measuring a magnitude of 4.8 was centered <br />off the coast of Ka'u. <br />As in all earthquakes, be aware of the possibility of after -shocks. If the earthquake was <br />strongly felt in your area, precautionary checks should be made for any damages; especially <br />to utility connections of Gas, Water, and Electricity. <br />Again, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center reports the earthquake that occurred at <br />approximately 6:06 am was not large enough to cause a tsunami for the Island of Hawaii.
