<br />CIVIL DEFENSE AGENCY Date: August 3, 2020 <br />MEDIA UPDATE Time: 08:00 AM <br />Radio Frequency: Every 2 Hours <br /> Update #: 1 <br />Incident: Coronavirus Update This is a Civil Defense message. <br />rd <br />This is a COVID-19 informational update for Monday, August 3. <br />On today’s update of COVID-19, the number of active cases for Hawaii Island is one. This <br />increase of one is travel related which emphasizes the importance of exercising caution of <br />traveling. At this date, for Hawaii Island, no one is hospitalized. An active case is defined as an <br />individual who has tested positive for the Coronavirus and is presently monitored by the <br />Department of Health. <br />For your information, a drive through testing is scheduled today for North Kona at the Keauhou <br />Shopping Center. Hours are from 9:00 in the morning ‘til noon. Thank you Ali`i Health for <br />providing this service and the Hawaii National Guard and County Task Force for helping. S&G <br />Labs is also offering testing Monday through Friday at the Pines Plaza Shopping Mall in Kailua- <br />Kona. Hours are from 8:30 ‘til 11:00 in the morning. <br />Do understand that many states are continuing to experience increased numbers of <br />Coronavirus cases, including the State of Hawaii. Hawaii County continues to do very well, but <br />do know that the threat is still out there. Know the importance of continuing to follow the <br />preventive measures of face coverings, cleanliness, keeping yourself healthy, of staying at <br />home when sick, and special care of gatherings and distancing. Your help is so needed to keep <br />Hawaii safe. Thank you for making the effort to keep our neighbors, friends, family, and <br />community safe. We must all do our part. <br />As a reminder, do know the wearing of face masks is mandatory on the Island of Hawaii. <br />Thank you for listening, have a productive and safe week. <br />This is your Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency. <br /> <br />
