CIVIL DEFENSE AGENCY Date: August 4, 2020
MEDIA UPDATE Time: 08:00 AM
Radio Frequency: Every 2 Hours
Update #: 1
Incident: Coronavirus Update
This is a Civil Defense message.
th
This is a COVID-19 informational update for Tuesday, August 4.
On today’s update of COVID-19, the number of active cases for Hawaii Island is three.
All three cases are travel related which emphasizes again the importance of exercising
caution of traveling trans-Pacific as well as inter-island. At this date, for Hawaii Island,
no one is hospitalized.
For your information, a drive through testing is scheduled for today in Hilo at the Afook-
Chinen Civic Auditorium. Hours are from 11:00 in the morning ‘til 3:00 this afternoon.
Thank you Premier Medical Group for providing this service and the Hawaii National
Guard and County Task Force for helping.
Do understand that many states continue to experience increased numbers of
Coronavirus cases, including the State of Hawaii. Hawaii County continues to do very
well, but as you can see, the threat is still out there. Know the importance of continuing
to follow the preventive measures of face coverings, cleanliness, keeping yourself
healthy, of staying at home when sick, and special care of gatherings and distancing.
We must all do our part; your help is so needed to keep Hawaii safe. Thank you for
making the effort to keep our neighbors, friends, family, and community safe.
As a reminder, do know the wearing of face masks is mandatory on the Island of
Hawaii.
Thank you for listening, have a safe day.
This is your Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency.
