CIVIL DEFENSE AGENCY Date: August 18, 2020 <br />MEDIA UPDATE <br />Incident: Coronavirus Update <br />This is a Civil Defense message. <br />Uri IT -3 FINVITITTANTA <br />Radio Frequency: Every 2 Hours <br />Update #: 1 <br />This is a COVID-19 informational update for Tuesday, August 18th <br />On today's update of COVID-19, the number of active cases, on Hawaii Island, <br />monitored by the Department of Health is twenty. There are three new cases of <br />Coronavirus on Hawaii Island. These cases are now isolated and monitored by the <br />Department of Health. At this date, for Hawaii Island, one person is hospitalized. <br />Hawaii Island has seen daily increases of positive cases over the past two weeks. Most <br />of these recent cases are not travel related which means the virus is being transmitted <br />within the community. As other islands begin measures to slow the spread of the virus <br />by limiting activities, we ask for your help in maintaining our beautiful lifestyle on Hawaii <br />Island by following the preventive policies. As a reminder, outdoor gatherings are limited <br />to 100 people and indoor gatherings are limited to 50 people. Within these groups, <br />please continue practicing the policies of physical distancing, cleanliness, and wearing <br />of face coverings. <br />By following these guidelines, we can continue enjoying our parks, beaches, and time <br />with our family, friends, and neighbors. <br />Thank you for listening, have a safe week and be well. <br />This is your Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency. <br />
