Vehicle Safety Check Test <br />For the vehicle safety check tested you are expected to describe to the examiner each item you <br />are inspecting and why. Your vehicle safety check test will be conducted off-street. It will <br />consist of the following components (in alphabetical order): <br />• Horn Checks that the horn works. <br />• Taillights & Brake Lights Checks that tail lights and brake lights are <br />operational. Checks that lenses are not cracked, broken or missing. <br />• Turn Signal Lights (front & back) Checks that all turn signal lights (front & back) <br />are operational. Checks that lenses are not cracked, broken or missing. <br />• Vehicle Walk -Around Walks around the vehicle indicating they are looking at <br />the general condition of the vehicle and looking for children, animals and other <br />objects before entering the vehicle. <br />• Windows & Windshields Checks windows to make sure they are clear and <br />have no obstructions or damage to the glass. Windows open and close properly. <br />Checks windshield to make sure it is clear and has no obstructions or damage to <br />the glass. <br />• Wipers/Washers Checks that wiper arms and blades are secure and not <br />damaged. Checks that windshield wipers operate correctly. <br />NOTE: If a condition has been identified during the vehicle safety check that makes the <br />vehicle unsafe to drive, we are unable to continue with the skills test. You will need to <br />re -schedule your test. <br />Applicant should speak loudly, projecting your voice as needed for the examiner to hear <br />each response or call out. Applicant should let the examiner know when they need help <br />in checking their brake lights and turn signals.
