Exercises <br />Forward Driving — For this exercise you will be asked to drive down a straight path (such as a <br />lane. This exercise is done on an off street course marked off with boundaries and cones). You <br />are to drive forward without touching the boundaries or cones and stay within your lane of travel. <br />This exercise demonstrates your ability to safely operate a vehicle on a straight road in normal <br />traffic conditions, keeping the car in the correct position in relation to the road and other road <br />users, staying within the posted speed limit and maintaining your place in the traffic flow without <br />impeding progress. <br />Reverse Straight Line Backing — For this exercise you will be asked to reverse down a <br />straight path (such as a lane. This exercise is done on an off street course marked off with <br />boundaries and cones). You are to reverse within your lane of travel without touching the <br />boundaries or cones and stay within your lane of travel. You should periodically check your <br />mirrors and blind spots for potential hazards. <br />This exercise demonstrates your ability to safely reverse your vehicle in a straight line. <br />Three-point Turnabout — You will be asked to drive forward into a three-point turnabout area <br />(in an off-street area marked by traffic cones and/or lines) and execute a three-point turnabout. <br />This area represents a two lane road. <br />This exercise demonstrates your ability to execute a three-point turnabout and to utilize a street <br />to reverse the direction you are traveling on a two-lane road.
