Greenwell: Okay.
Onizuka: He's not at the meeting today.
Greenwell: But his written testimony is.
Takase: Correct.
Onizuka: Yes.
Takase: The reason it's coming back to the Commission today, is that the Commission is the
only body entitled or empowered to take action on all of these motions. We, as a department,
could not summarily dismiss a matter. It has to come back to the Commission to make an
informed decision as to what to do. We're trying to provide the Commission with all of the
facts to put you in a position where you can decide.
Greenwell: Thank you.
Onizuka: Any other discussion?
There was no other discussion from the Commissioners.
Onizuka: If not, call for a vote to close the public hearing. All in favor say, "Aye."
The Commissioners voted "Aye."
Onizuka: Opposed, "Nay."
There was no opposition by the Commissioners.
Onizuka: Hearing none, the public hearing is closed.
The motion was carried unanimously.
Onizuka: Call for a motion to approve or deny the petition for rehearing.
Hughes: Motion to deny the petition for rehearing.
Greenwell: I second that.
Mr. Hughes moved to deny the Petition for Rehearing for
Application No. 18-21, Pacific Aqua Beverages LLC, dba
Hilo Brewing Company, for Commission review, discussion,
and decision-making, filed pursuant to Liquor Rule 1-9 by
Steve Shropshire, the landowner of the subject property
and received by the Department of Liquor Control on
June 9, 2020; seconded by Mr. Greenwell.
JULY 2,2020- LIQUOR COMMISSION MINUTES 10
