• On how the Planning Department and DEM interface regarding new <br />developments, any time a zoning or land use type of application goes through <br />the Planning Department, it is sent to DEM to review and comment on any <br />wastewater or solid waste implications. Several of these are received each <br />month. <br /> <br /> Director Kucharski answered questions from Commissioner Gaffney regarding how <br />reviews are done for large projects that will need to connect to the sewer system, and whether <br />R-1 use is taken into consideration. <br /> <br />8. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS <br /> <br /> Chair Pequeño reminded commissioners to send him and the secretary items they want <br />on the next agenda. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Cardwell asked Director Kucharski about the status of the Waiōhinu ʻ <br />Transfer Station repairs, and he said he had not looked at the project for awhile. The EA was <br />finalized, and they are making sure to take care of the environmental concerns. He can have a <br />more direct answer at the next meeting. <br /> <br /> Chair Pequeño said it would go on the next agenda. <br /> <br />9. ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br /> Chair Pequeño announced the next meeting is scheduled for September 23, 2020, at a <br />location to be determined or online. <br /> <br />10.
