Hawaii Police Commission <br />Meeting Agenda <br />October 16, 2020 <br />Page 2 <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION (CLOSED SESSION) <br />The commission will meet in executive session to consider charges against officers or <br />employees of the police department where matters affecting privacy will be involved, to <br />work on the evaluation of the Police Chief, to consider sensitive matters relating to <br />public safety, and may consult with Corporation Counsel on questions and issues <br />pertaining to the commission's powers, duties, privileges, immunities, and liabilities <br />pursuant to HRS 92-5 (a) (2) (4) (6) and the Hawaii County Charter Section 13-20 (b). <br />CONSIDERATION AND INVESTIGATION OF COMPLAINTS (Briefly summarized.) <br />• Complaint HPC 20-06: Complainant alleged that officers put her in harm's way and <br />advised her against getting a TRO. <br />• Complaint HPC 20-27: Complainant alleged that when an officer responded to his <br />home for a domestic incident, he was not wearing a mask, and the officer made him <br />fearful for his safety. <br />• Complaint HPC 20-28: Complainant was involved in a traffic stop and alleged that <br />this was harassment. <br />• Complaint HPC 20-29: Complainant alleged that when officers responded to his <br />home for a domestic incident, officers mistreated him and used a Taser on him. <br />STATUS REPORT OF REFERRED AND EXTERNAL COMPLAINTS <br />WORK ON THE ANNUAL EVALUATION OF POLICE CHIEF PAUL FERREIRA <br />ACTION ON EXECUTIVE SESSION MATTERS (OPEN SESSION) <br />• Investigation of Complaints <br />✓ HPC 20-06 <br />✓ HPC 20-27 <br />✓ HPC 20-28 <br />✓ HPC 20-29 <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />The next meeting is scheduled for November 20, 2020, 9:00 a.m., in the West Hawaii <br />Civic Cntr., Bldg.
