<br />CIVIL DEFENSE AGENCY Date: October 20, 2020 <br />MEDIA UPDATE Time: 10:00 AM <br />Radio Frequency: Every Hour <br /> Update #: 1 <br />Incident: Coronavirus Update <br />This is a Civil Defense message. <br />th <br />This is a COVID-19 informational update for Tuesday, October 20. <br />On today’s update of COVID-19, the number of new active cases, on Hawaii Island, reported <br />and monitored by the Department of Health is twenty-four (24). At this date, for Hawaii Island, <br />five (5) are hospitalized. A total of forty (40) deaths have been reported on Hawaii <br />Island. Please do your part to stop the spread of this virus. <br />On testing, there are no district tests today. For tomorrow, Wednesday, a district test, which is <br />open to the public, is scheduled in North Kona at the Keauhou Shopping from 9 in the morning <br />‘til 12 noon and in Hilo at the Civic Auditorium beginning at 3 in the afternoon ‘til 6. Understand <br />that the importance of testing is to identify positive cases as early as possible and in this way <br />help stop the spread of the Coronavirus. <br />Know that the virus spread is occurring island wide and preventive measures of face coverings, <br />distancing, and gatherings are critical to stop the spread of the virus and therefore protect our <br />family, friends and community.
