Since 2017, cease and desist orders and four(4) <br /> daily fines letters had been signed by Michael Yee. <br /> You are being asked to review this permit out of sequence due to the "- - -"County zoning and <br /> building laws, a pending lawsuit and with the absence of community vetting with Michael Yee's <br /> recommendations by the North Kohala Community Development Plan Action Committee. There <br /> is a reason why the Commission follows proper procedures when reviewing these applications. <br /> This application clearly violates these procedures. Main thing I want"- - -"denial of this permit <br /> a very dangerous precedence to the County and the State of Hawaii. <br /> When we built our home, we needed a licensed contractor, and building permits electrical, <br /> plumbing, grading, septic and permits to the County of Hawaii Fire Code. Followed by County <br /> inspectors to verify the work was to code and safe to occupy. In contrary, Puakea Ranch has <br /> built, has no building permits for five (5)rental units, three (3) swimming pools, a wedding <br /> pavilion, a trailer rental and other structures that is not in compliance with the County of Hawaii <br /> Fire Code or the Department of Health wastewater discharge requirements. <br /> The County requires residents and businesses in North Kohala to follow zoning and building <br /> laws while Puakea Ranch is not required. Why is "- - -" standard allowed for one off-shore <br /> owners and one for the rest of us. The Commission needs to send a strong message that residents <br /> and off-shore business owners in Hawaii will be treated equally. I, therefore, respectfully ask <br /> the Commission to reject this application. Thank you. <br /> CARR SMITH: Thank you very much Robert.
