Chun, Trustee <br />Re: Signature Request for Sign Permit and Variance Application for Unit 201 <br />Dear Ms. Chun: <br />We own unit 201 at Kona West, which has been on the market for sale since October 2019. We are sending you this <br />letter because the Hawaii Dept of public Works requires your signature on 2 pages related to the Kailua Village <br />Design Commission (KVDC} portion of our package requesting a real-estate for -sale sign permit and variance for <br />our unit 201. After approval, we wish to place the sign on the chainlink fence at the left -side entry of Kona West <br />facing Kuakini Highway (see photo)_ <br />Due to Covid-19, the opportunities to advertise the unit for sale are very limited, so this sign would greatly help <br />improve the exposure of the unit to the public passing the building. About 2 months ago, we asked the current Kona <br />West Board of Directors for permission to put a for -sale sign in the green area to the left of the dumpster but they <br />did not approve putting the for -sale sign anywhere on the property. Consequently, our only other option was to ask <br />the Hawaii County Dept of Public Works for a sign permit and variance outside of the Koala West property. The <br />variance will allow us to display the for -sale sign beyond the current 30 -day limit for signs that don't require a <br />permit. <br />Can you please sign in the flagged area that says "Recorded Land Owner" on the two pages that say at the top <br />"Referral of Sign Permit Application for KVDC Review" and "Referral of Sign Variance Application for KVDC <br />Review". Please return at least those 2 signed pages by Friday, September 0, which is a hill month for you to act. <br />We will send weekly Certified Mail reminders to help you remember that we need the pages returned by September <br />4'h so that we can then proceed with our request to Hawaii County. If you do not want to sign the pages, please <br />document why in a letter and return it before September 4th. If it would be easier for you, you may send your <br />signed pages to us or your letter of denial to us via email at relarkl8wi _maii.eorn.
