"Food service ware" includes plates, bowls, cups, lids, straws, stirrers, forks, spoons, <br />knives, napkins, trays, and other items primarily designed for use in consuming food. <br />"Greenwaste" means palm fronds, leaves, tree, shrubs, bush and hedge cuttings, grass <br />clippings, untreated and unpainted wood pallets, logs, branches, excluding invasive species. <br />"HCC" means Hawai'i County Code. <br />"Household pet" means a small animal weighing less than 50 pounds. <br />"Household solid waste or recyclables" means solid waste or recyclables originating <br />from homes and residences. <br />"HRS" means the Hawai'i Revised Statutes. <br />"Impound facility" means a facility where abandoned vehicles are stored and where <br />County vehicle auctions are held. <br />"Large appliances" means electrical and mechanical appliances made primarily of metal <br />parts such as refrigerators, clothes washers, dryers and stoves. Appliances of less than 3 cubic <br />feet in volume before crushing shall not be included in this definition. <br />"Liquid waste" means any waste material that is determined to contain "free liquids" as <br />defined by the Paint Filter Liquids test. <br />"Medical waste" means all infectious and injurious waste originating from a medical, <br />veterinary, or intermediate care facility. <br />"Materials" means all items acceptable by permit at a SWD facility. <br />"Mils thickness" means a unit of measurement that is equal to .001" or "one one - <br />thousandth of an inch". In the United States, the gauge or thickness of a plastic bag is measured <br />by mils. <br />"Mulch" means processed greenwaste used on the soil surface to reduce weeds, <br />conserve soil moisture, improve water infiltration, or for aesthetic purposes. <br />"Net 30 business account" means an account which must be paid within thirty (30) full <br />days of the billing statement date, which is created based on a customer's proven credit history <br />with the County. <br />"Organics" means solid wastes containing carbon compounds that are capable of being <br />biologically degraded, including paper, food residuals, wood wastes, yard debris, and plant <br />wastes. <br />10 <br />
