I mean, that’s why Nani mentioned it is, you know, it’s hard for <br />people to fill out the hunter check station but I – the only thing can base these <br />decisions on a lot of times is how many people check in and out, yeah, so if I <br />not getting the data from certain areas it’s shooting in the dark as far as trying <br />to figure out what’s going on. During the pandemic, for example, I didn’t have <br />a lot of – I had very few – far fewer hunters checking in in Hilo Restrictive <br />Watershed Unit D – than I would have thought so I thought to myself, either <br />they don’t know where they’re going and they’re checked in for B – or there’s <br />not that many that’s going so – Johnny Tex and all those trails are there so I <br />was really surprised how little data I had and it was during the pandemic when <br />I would have figured more people had more time and that’s only weekends <br />but, you know, that’s all I can base it off so I was trying to figure out are people <br />not sure where they’re going – do we have a – or is it really this few people or <br />people hesitating to turn in their data sheets. I know there are many theories <br />on data sheets, but, all we do is write down the numbers. Mostly people don’t <br />want other people to see it, but it’s really hard for us to make informed <br />decisions about usage or back-up the hunters on how much an area is getting <br />used if people don’t sign in or check in… <br /> <br />NP: You have enough hunters here just sitting in who can pass the word.
