For the past several years, Hawaii County has had the highest percentage of traffic fatalities <br /> per capita in the state (see Figure 1). The number of fatal traffic crashes on Hawai'i Island has <br /> remained steady as Vehicle Miles Travelled across the state increased over the years (see <br /> Figure 2).
