E NERGY C ONSERVATION C ODE§5E-2-1 <br />(5) Subsection C103.1 of the International Energy Conservation Code is amended <br />to read as follows: <br />“C103.1 General. Construction documents and other supporting data <br />shall be submitted to indicate compliance with this code. The <br />construction documents shall be prepared, designed, approved, and <br />observed by a duly registered licensed professional as required by <br />chapter 464, Hawai‘i Revised Statutes and in accordance with the <br />provisions of chapter 5, Hawai‘i County Code. The licensed <br />professional shall certify via a signed statement on the plans, that the <br />project complies with this code. <br />Exception: Any building work that is not required to be prepared, <br />designed, approved, or observed by a licensed professional architect or <br />engineer pursuant to chapter 464, Hawai‘i Revised Statutes, shall be <br />certified by the owner.” <br />(6) Subsections C103.3.2 and C103.3.3 of the International Energy Conservation <br />Code are deleted in their entirety. <br />(7) Sections C104 and C105 of the International Energy Conservation Code are <br />deleted in their entirety. <br />(8) Sections C107 through C109 of the International Energy Conservation Code <br />are deleted in their entirety. <br />(9) Subsection C202 of the International Energy Conservation Code is amended <br />by adding the following new definitions to be appropriately inserted and to <br />read as follows: <br />“CODE OFFICIAL. The director of the department of public works of <br />the County of Hawai‘i, the director’s authorized representative, or <br />other designated authority charged with the administration and <br />enforcement of this code.” <br />“COOL ROOF. A cool roof is a roofing system that can deliver high <br />solar reflectance, and high thermal emittance as specified in table <br />C402.3.” <br />“HABITABLE SPACE. A space in a building for living, sleeping, <br />eating or cooking. Bathrooms, toilet rooms, closets, halls, storage or <br />utility spaces and similar areas are not considered habitable spaces.” <br />SUPP. 9 (1-2021) <br />5E-5 <br /> <br />
